The Government Engineering College, Kozhikode (GECK) was started by the government of Kerala, India, in August 1999. It is an engineering institution under the Department of Technical Education, Kerala. GECK has been rated consistently among the top technical institutes in kerala, with students admitted purely on the basis of merit. . GECK graduates are employed in public and private sector companies within India and abroad. Many of the alumni occupy top managerial and key technical position in corporates across the globe. The institution is located in WestHill. The institute has five major engineering departments: Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering,Electronics and Communication Engineering and Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering. ==Courses== The college offers five B.Tech and three M.Tech courses, with an intake of 66 regular students and six lateral entry students per year for each B.Tech courses and 18 students for each M.Tech courses. The college is affiliated to the University of Calicut and follows its curricula and syllabi.
